From welcoming the arrival of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth in 1939, to seeing our young men and women leaving for war in Europe, the station has consistently been a gathering place. Even though the train no longer stops at its door, Number 1 Avenue Road will continue in its sole function, to welcome its community and participate in its future.
